PPA Webinar with The Week Junior

What happens when you launch a magazine smack bang in the middle of a global pandemic? Find out in our latest PPA Live! session, where Barry McIlheney will be speaking to Anna Bassi, Editor-in-Chief of The Week Junior, about her experiences and learnings from the title’s recent expansion into the US.

Hear how they approached the launch and, more broadly, about the rise of the subscription-driven Dennis-owned magazine, and how it has managed the publishing challenges and opportunities thrown its way in recent months.

The Week Junior

Anna Bassi is Editor-in-chief of The Week Junior. Having joined Dennis in 2015 as the magazine's launch editor, Anna has steered The Week Junior through four consecutive years of circulation growth. The magazine now boasts over 70,000 subscribers and has won multiple awards for its editorial excellence. Under her leadership the team has launched two brand extensions – the monthly magazine, Science+Nature (in September 2018) and bi-monthly puzzle book, Quizzler (February 2020), and a weekly podcast. She is currently directing the editorial team who will launch The Week Junior in the US in spring 2020.

Anna has been creating magazines for children for more than 25 years. She has an in-depth understanding of what young readers engage with, and a commitment to providing brilliant, perfectly-pitched, trusted and age-appropriate content that keeps children – and their parents – coming back for more.

In December 2018 Anna was presented with the Editors’ Editor Award by the British Society of Magazine Editors.
